This 11″ 3 Fuller AEOF Gripper Blocker Handle Khukuri was one of the popular choices among the British Gurkha soldiers who were in Afghanistan. This khukuri (also called as “kukri” or “khukuri” by the people outside Nepal) is one of the popular military khukuri of our khukuri house due to its use by the Gurkha Regiments. Inspected regularly by a military officer, this khukuri was usually used during training and duty. Many of them used to carry this same khukuri design during their presence in the Afghan wars.

The khukuri knife has an 11-inch (27.5cm) unpolished blade with 3 fullers and is forged from highly graded 5160 carbon steel. The edge of the blade is very sharp and has gone through balanced oil quenching tempering. This khukuri’s handle is quite different and very comfortable to use. It has a 5-inch full tang handle made from rosewood with a blocker and a tight grip.  The scabbard is made from pinewood wrapped in refined water buffalo leather.

This 11″ 3 Fuller OEF Gripper Blocker Handle Khukuri has two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “chakmak” used for sharpening the blade and for creating spark by striking with a flint and a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals, cutting fruits and opening cans. There is a notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris that serves as a conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out to prevent the soiling of the hilt and as well as a device for catching and neutralizing an enemy blade.

You can use this blade to chop wood, meat & bones, and to clear bushes. This light khukuri can also be your trusted companion on your outdoor adventure trips like camping, hunting, hiking, etc.

Note: Each handcrafted khukuri may have slight variations in measurements.
